Ningbo

Already one week ago.......
On the long weekend over moon festival where most others went to Guilin, I went to Ningbo.
To Ningbo Nottingham University to visit some friends there.
I decided to go there on saturday instead of friday late evening. Bus ride is approx 1.50h but to get to the bus station in Hangzhou...and in Ningbo to the University, and with the waiting time.... my journey took 4h.
But I had a good welcome when I arrived there.
I have meet Rocky, David and Mengying. And also meet friends of them. I couldnt meet Kai and Margret coz they werent there at this time. Furhtermore I met Richard, a German guy from Nottingham England, who is now in Ningbo for 1 year, as well as some German post grade students.
First night we went to som nice big Club in Ningbo..... it was fun... adn meet some interesting people.... the second day... a friend of Rocky who I got to know the night before invited us to a club opening of his relative (uncle or brother,,,, )...... That was very cool......... I got really use to whiskey+ green tea juice that weekend..... and we mostly played with the dices.... we have been dacing... they also played some German songs, includin " Aloha heya he"
Was really cool.
On day time I have seen a bit the city, alot of the university including the chinese student accomodation.

My roomi took a bit longer, as they didnt quite understand qhat should be done.... and roomi had also her hair flattened. But it was very funny though.

And cheap as well.... 15RMB I paid at the end.. maybe 1.6EUR

Guangzhou 广州

05/09/08-07/09/08 I had been in Guangzhou to visit Vicky. Vicky is a good became good friend while I was studying in Nottingham.

My journey started right after work at 1630. Qui, a coworker, she brought me to the bus station. Very kind of her. So I could take the bus to the airport (cheaper, and also easier). More easy because around 17h every day the taxi drivers change shifts, at this time it is not easy to get a taxi.
Anyway everything was fine; I got on the plane on time. And as I was just boarding the plane (China Eastern, by the way) it was slightly starting to rain….
And the rain should get heavier…. So there was some “air traffic control problem” and our plane shouldn’t move for 3h…… quite horrible…
I got quite suspicious as the already started to pass out the food just 20min after the scheduled departure…. The actual flight took 1:40 … and I was therefore quite exhausted as arrived in Guangzhou, as well as Vicky was waiting all the time at the airport.
So the next two days we spent with shopping, sightseeing and eating. It was a nicer time in Guangzhou, nice to see another Nottingham friend. And it also was kind of a holiday from Hangzhou.

You can find so pictures here => 广州
note: some have been taken by Vicky

Hangzhou/Ningbo/Nottingam friend - Zhiwen

Tuesday, I have meet Zhiwen (Nottingham/Ningbo), we had dinner together and he showed me a bit around Hangzhou. He gave me some advice and a map of Hangzhou where he had marked several places of interest. That was very kind and it was nice to meet him again. However, we forgot to take picture at restaurant but we managed to take one after all.
