The bus system in Nottingham is quite different than the german. Here they have several different bus companies which operate on different or equal routs. So u always have to know where u want to go and which company u'd like to use. On some routes u have to pay the exact fee, but there are also routes where u get change back.
And also the busses are different. They have only a front door. Before you can enter the bus the other people have to leave first. And u always have to queue.
However, the most important thing is to give the drive a sign while waiting at the bus station. Otherwise the bus won't stop.
But the point which compensate all the 'negative' things are the always friendly bus drivers. I assume it's normal here. And finally by getting of the bus u always thank the driver and he thanks you.
